27th. February 2016.
The week had been fairly busy chasing enquiries. It does tend to be the time of year for a lot of people seeing what the price is. We recently did a hire for a Roberto Palmieri who has a wonderfully busy Café run in true Italian style.
However, Saturday’s event was an early start close to Cowley. We were located opposite Pembroke College down Pembroke Square. We had been kept a space on the side entrance. Although tight, it was perfect for the hog roast Cowley set up. We were catering for 400 revellers who were arriving at 11.00 am. It was interesting to watch a Kebab stand packing up at 6.00 in the morning. I guess it shows how late or early students party.
A little later on the caretaker from the college warned us that there would be numerous students in the streets . There is apparently a ceremony if Pembroke College win Torpids. Fortunately we were planning to be finished by about 2.00-3.00pm. Phew.
As always we helped the team at St.Aldates set up the coffee station and various other jobs. We find that time passes quicker. Also since we were part of a tight schedule service was on time and all over and done with in twenty minutes.
A quick clear up for hog roast Cowley followed and off back home.
