Planning a corporate event can be a stressful experience. With invitations to send out, venues to arrange and importantly caterers to source- it can all become overwhelming. The most recent corporate event in Hog Roast Thame’s calendar was run by our catering manager Greg who was assisted by team member Kris. The event was being held in Thame for company KUK Ltd. Our contact who was organising the event had asked us to come and provide our classic Hog Roast Thame for the company’s one hundred guests which would need to include some meat free alternatives as well as gluten free options. For Greg this was a challenge he readily accepted and couldn’t wait to get started planning the menu for the event.
Upon arriving at the venue early in the morning Greg and Kris quickly got set up and cooking away in order to have everything ready for a lunch time serve. As always, the first job is to prepare the meat before roasting. To do this Greg gently scored the skin with a knife before applying lots of sea salt and water which is how we are able to create that delicious mouth-watering crackling. Once the meat is loaded into our roasting machine it’s simply a case of keeping an eye on the temperature whilst the machine does all the work. This meant we had plenty of time to prepare the vegetarian option of our grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers.
