June kicked off with an almighty bang for our Hog Roast Cumnor catering crew, who were summoned to serve our legendary spit roast at an unforgettable agricultural show on Saturday! Organised by the local agricultural society, this event promised a day of entertainment for attendees of all ages.
Kids had a blast with junior agricultural club games, donkey and pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, and a bouncy castle, keeping their excitement levels high all day long. Adults, on the other hand, were captivated by sheepdog demonstrations, livestock competitions, and, of course, all of the delicious farm-fresh food available!
For food lovers, this event was nothing short of paradise! The air was thick with the tantalising aroma of fresh, free-range meats sizzling on grills. Home-baked goodies like warm apple pie, scones, and cupcakes tempted those with a sweet tooth, while hand-crafted ales provided a refreshing treat. There was truly something to entice every palate!
In the midst of all this, Hog Roast Cumnor was thrilled to be a major player, serving our five-star hog roast to the hungry crowds. Our stall quickly became a magnet, thanks to the irresistible fragrance of perfectly cooked pork wafting through the air.
The early birds were in for a special treat—not only did they get to sample our hog roast at its absolute freshest, but they also witnessed the mesmerising carving process! Watching our head chef expertly slice the crackling and shred the juicy pork was a theatrical experience that had everyone on the edge of their seats.
Paired with gluten-free or wholemeal rolls, sage and onion stuffing, and applesauce, the different textures and flavours of our hog roast created an unforgettable food experience that had guests swooning. Out of the 600 attendees, nearly everyone sampled our hog roast sandwiches, and the unanimous verdict was pure delight! The freshness, quality flavours, and impeccable presentation captured the essence of the event—celebrating the farming industry and the superiority of farm-to-table cuisine.
The agricultural show was a resounding success, uniting the community in a joyous celebration of local farmers’ hard work and dedication. The mix of lively entertainment and exquisite food made for an unforgettable day, and Hog Roast Cumnor couldn’t be more proud to have attended this brilliant event!
